The Nobscot Rail Trail
A.K.A. Bruce Freeman Phase III begins just south of Rte 20 and continues southward for about 5 miles, ending just past Rte 30 (Pleasant St) where the right of way once joined an active rail going west from Framingham into Southboro, MA.
The phase three section was still active until several years ago, with two to three trains a week carrying lumber and garden supplies up to a store at Sudbury Crossing. In the Spring of 2000, rotten cross ties caused a train derailment and the eventual abandonment of this rail section.
